Success!
I am so excited that I have finally found a program that is working for me and giving me good results. I have a long way to go but very happy with the results I am seeing. And feeling! I am thankful that I found this program when I did. It has helped tremendously with the stress of a new job. I don't crave sugar! I have more energy! I am happy to report that I am down 7 1/4 pounds.

Taking Care of Myself
Yes taking care of myself is difficult! Being a nurse, wife, mother and grandmother I have always put others first. Learning to take care of myself first is a new way of thinking and living. I am gradually getting the hang of it. I now take time to go exercise. It takes at least an hour and a half. It is easy to skip because I don't have the time. The distressing benefit is so worth taking the time out of my day for myself. I am also learning better eating habits. On my new weight loss program I have been told to not skip any meals. I really struggle with this. My days are busy. I have to still remind myself to stop and eat. The benefit is so worth the time and effort! I am feeling more energetic. Being more energetic, makes me more productive. Taking care of myself first, helps me to take care of others.

Too Much Junk Food
I was reading my Grandchildren a book last night, the Bernstein Bears. I love this series of books and also read them to my children. Last night we read Too Much Junk Food. There was a lot of good information in the book. Of course the book was teaching about eating more fruits and vegetables and to exercise. However, a point it made that I hadn't thought about was that eating too much junk food robs your body of needed nutrition. When the body does not get all the nutrition that it needs, the body keeps triggering that it is hungry. This leads to over eating. Eating more calories then the body needs for energy, turns the unused calories into stored fat. Eliminating junk food will not only prevent you from storing more fat, it will also give you more energy. Having more energy will make you more active which will also lead to burning more calories and making you less fat. So when reaching for some Junk Food, stop and think what nutritional snack you can have. There are many out there that will give you satisfaction. At first you may miss that junk food, but soon you will enjoy the healthy snacks. You will also begin to enjoy looking and feeling better!
